OPTICAST mirrors consist of cast gypsum cement substrate covered with several very thin layers of hard high temperature thermosetting plastic. Heat treatment of the plastic between the casting of successive layers ensures the long term stability and high accuracy of the finished surface.
This diffraction pattern from an eight year old OPTICAST mirror shows the excellent figure and long term stability of these mirrors. |
